Comment: A romantic, deeply human senryū 川柳 ('river willow') which depicts a very common –and yet very recognizable– scene that can be shared and appreciated by the reader. As we know, this poetic genre focuses on the universe of human emotions (kanjō 感情), sometimes exalting their comical, grotesque aspects and sometimes facing the events with delicacy (karumi 軽み) and seriousness. The horror movie is a pretext for the protagonist to cling even more tightly to her lover, drawing a sweet and amiable situation which also suggests a bit of self-irony (kidoairaku 喜怒哀楽).

Silence 

silent night
no moon no stars no wind
a shadow creeping on the wall
is dancing with a raven

silent home
no gate
no window
no lock
a phantom staying at the door 
is waving at a phantom

“come closer you a cursed squid” – 
 the phantom says in signs
 but shadow rides on the raven’s back
and off they go to heaven

silent phantom
no legs
no arms
no body

but heart
that cursed heart
is still in love
with the shadow
flying on a raven’s back
